In September 2010 one of our readers shared the following experiences living within a haunted home in the Jarvis Street area of Toronto.

'I lived in an old Victorian house built in 1896 and I know it was haunted but the ghosts where harmless enough. I have had many different friends stay with me over the years and all have experienced something. Things like knocking on a door or faint footsteps coming up the stairs around midnight or the feeling that somebody was sitting on the bed because the bed would move down like somebody sat on it. My cats would suddenly look up at the doorway and stare at nothing as though someone was standing there. This happened many times. More than one person saw this nanny who seemed to be dressed in old fashioned clothing. A friend of mines little girl saw this very stern older women staring at her when she slept over night. Another friend saw a women walking by at night just as I had turned the light out to go to sleep. She freaked out and said" Quick turn the light on". Another friend who was a psychic sensed that something bad happened at the top of the basement stairs. She would stand there and say something bad happened around here. A couple of years later the basement was being gutted and lowered so they dug up the ground and the workers found some bones buried and they just threw them out. What was interesting was they were right below where my friend would stand on the first floor by the basement stairs and say I feel something bad happened around here. Below that spot buried in the basement were the bones. I never got to see the bones myself so I don't know if they were human bones or horse bones because before the house was built in 1896 it was horse stables. Just up the street and around the corner is the Keg Mansion. I no longer live in this house."
