Our reader writes:

My husband and I went away for a relaxing secluded weekend at the Sir Sam's Inn.  On our first night there I was awakened by the sound of footsteps, loud, at least 4 or 5 steps, sounded like they were in the room with us, like old heavy boots.  I looked around but didn't really see anything but the dying embers in the fireplace, I figured I was dreaming and went back to sleep. On our second night, I awoke to a pressure on my feet, I figured my husband was pushing on me, I didn't open my eyes but just moved my feet and I had the sense that someone was watching me, I would swear when I opened my eyes that I could see someone standing at the end of the bed - just a large, dark figure...I became uneasy and woke my husband up.  He ignored my "rant" and told me to go back to sleep.  I got up, checked the room, the doors, but could not sleep soundly for the rest of the night. I am writing to you just wondering if there have been any other reports.

Our thanks to the witness for sharing this experience with us. For information on Sir Sam's Inn please visit their official website.

Sir Sam's Inn was once the Haliburton estate of Sir Samuel Hughes, the decorated government minister who led Canada's military through the first world war.
