The Shingwauk Hall - Algoma University College

Originally built in 1875, Shingwauk Hall served as a residential school for aboriginal students. There is much history of the abuse the students endured during their attendance, a great number ending in death. The building still stands with additions built onto it. Many people have experienced a sense of discomfort, sorrow, and the feeling of being watched while in the building. Much historical information has already been accumulated about this building and the undeserved vicious maltreatment of the students who resided there. No further historical information is required.
