A reader writes:

"When I was young my mother and I experienced a voice on many occasions of a man. This occurred mostly in the evenings between 8 and 10pm. The voice was not friendly and seemed somewhat angry. Besides these voices we also heard footsteps in our attic which could not be explained as no one was home either at our place or next door as our house was a semi. After talking to our landlords who lived downstairs my mother discovered that a previous owner had murdered his son in the attic some time just after the turn of the century. As I was so young at the time and my mother was not all that interested in this subject I was unable to retain enough information as to the owners name at the time of the murder to do any further investigations. Those events even to this day bother me because I still dream of this house and my mother found it truly amazing how I could recall the interior of this home after so many years and from such a young age. In fact a close friend of mine became very interested upon my telling him of this experience that he insisted that I take him to this house where he was able to point out my room and the the room where we mostly heard these voices without my help in any way. I know this experience is real and have only experienced one other somewhat similar experience 16 years later and by happenstance with the previously mentioned friend in his home. I am now 54 years of age and mystified to this day and only wished I still lived in Toronto to approach the new owners and get some history of this house and the horrible events that occurred there years ago. This house was in the (edited for privacy) block of Dundas Street East in Toronto. Having watched and studied some experiences of others on TV and through books I have come across some similar experiences and have come to some conclusions. When something violent does occur sometimes residual events can happen. This was to real and is not something that keeps coming up in my life to lead me to believe that I have an over active imagination."
