We received this report in September 2012:
"This location is in Yorkville. I was doing my routine maintenance like every morning, but this time I was alone and earlier than usual. When I was cleaning behind the bar , at first I clearly saw a shadow figure going from left to right, from the coat check area near the entrance towards the small room where the elevator is hidden. At firsts thought it was nothing, maybe the reflexion from a person walking outside, but in the back of my mind I knew it wasn't. I just didn't want to think about it andirons was trying to finish my work fast and get out of there. A few minutes later I clearly heard a woman's voice called my name very loudly. At first I thought the owner of the restaurant arrived but I knew it wasn't her because I heard the voice coming from the coat check area... And the main entrance is lock from the inside with the chain and they always use the back door when they get in. When I heard that I went to check the entire place calling her name to see if she was there. I got major goosebumps and when I realize I was alone I just got out of there. And came back later when the office girl was in and I told her what had happened to me and she told me that when she is alone in the office she hears voices of people talking and laughing sometimes. I would not believe it if it didn't happen to me but I did experience it and I believe there is something there. I have experience shadows before but it was the first time I hear clearly someone's voice calling my name very clearly. That's what it got me really scared. I experience stuff since I was a kid living in Peru but when I told my parents they always dismiss it as my imagination playing tricks on me. I used to see things, people or hear noises... Wake up in the middle of the night, experienced that I wake up in the middle of the night and I feel like someone is holding me, restraining me into my bed. I couldn't move or speak and every time I told my parents they will always find some excuse that I was dreaming or my imagination is too strong. So I had to learn to dismiss most things that happen to me as a child and pretend I didn't see or heard it. So I wouldn't live in fear of those things. Like my mother always said to me : you shouldn't fear the dead, the living are the ones you should be afraid of because they are the only ones that can harm you."
The place is just really old and there might be energies trapped inside. Who knows, since there has been so much change around that area, I hear spirits don't like it when they do renovations or change their environment. It could be all the construction that was happening at that time. Might have disrupted their peace.. Who knows!"
