The following report, from a well known Toronto based business downtown on Church Street (a head office since the mid-1970's,) was sent in earlier this year, 2015...
Good evening,
I randomly came across your website tonight and one of the stories about music randomly playing reminded me of my own experience at work.
I worked at this particular building and company for 7 years, the last 3 spent in accounting on the top floor of the building. I had heard third hand stories about the basement having some weird sightings by returns center workers, and it is an old building so there's bound to be a few 'quirks' right?
Never experienced anything really weird there myself until one morning about a year into my working in accounting. The way the building is set up is you have to walk the entire length of the floor below to get up to the top, so you knew who was in first thing in the morning.
That morning I got in just before 6am, the only other person in the building was the man who opened the corporate door and he worked on that floor below mine I had to walk across. His desk on the opposite side of the building from where my desk was. No one else was in the building. I went upstairs, got settled in and start filing when I heard classical music coming from the back room (a warehouse storage area with only one door leading in and the windows all boarded up,) and when I got close to the door, the music stopped.
I moved away and it started again for a few minutes. I tried to follow it but it wasn't coming from anywhere discernable. My boss happened to come in a few minutes later around 6:30 and I asked her if any of the big-wigs were in at that time since their offices are directly below. She said nope, it was just the man who opened up and the both of us. I told her about it, she said I was crazy and life carried on.
I would hear creaking footstep sounds occasionally above me as I made my way to the staircase to the top floor and get upstairs to find no one there, but regretfully I never heard the beautiful music again. That entity had exquisite taste in music.
That's my story, not too exciting, but I thought it was cool :)
