We received the following account in April 2010, however the events reported occurred during the 1970s.
"I had moved out for the first time. I was 19 yrs.old and eager to be on my own. This was a bachelor apt. in a home. I heard breathing at the foot of my bed, someone rustling a newspaper as if reading it but no one was there. The basement was broken up in two parts. My bathroom was in another part of the basement where the furnace and double sinks were and some odd and end pieces of furniture. I had to wash out some delicates for work one evening and used one of the double sinks. All at once I had to turn around because someone was right there at my left shoulder except that there wasn't anyone there. Somehow I also felt as though I was the least welcomed person in the world to be there. I felt a feeling of hatred toward me--- can't explain it but I ran out of the room.I had an impression in my mind of a person and in my minds' eye I saw a short haired, blonde, chubby lady. Can't explain that either. Different things,in particular, water glasses were never where I left them. I could put a glass down and find it on the bathroom counter. Absent minded? No because this happened to a couple of other people. The piece de resistance was when a door bell without an electrical current began ringing on it's own. I had to call my boyfriend over that night. He thought I was over reacting to something so he came by. Just as I was telling him what I'd experienced the bell started going off and he stood there with a finger between the hammer and bell and the hammer continued to pound on his finger for a bit. We both had tears of fear in our eyes. He checked and checked and there was just no means that the bell could have been working.A short time later I spoke to my landlady and told her what had happened with the door bell. She said it was impossible as the bell had been disconnected some fifteen years prior as the tenant she had didn't like the sound of the doorbell. I asked her if the tenant was female, older with white hair and a bit on the chubby side. She said "Yes,did you know her?" I answered her honestly "No" but I can assure you that I was out of there in less than a week. I believe that these experience are something real that we don't yet know about along the electrical theories."
