Often we receive emails from folks whom wish to know about Canadian celebrities that may have experienced a haunting. There are a handful on the site that do cover this, but only if that particular celeb is willing and has openly discussed their experiences. Otherwise our privacy policy and forms of non-disclosure cover all people no matter whether they are rich or famous or not.
The following report came from famed Canadian authors Margaret Atwood and Graeme Gibson.
During the 1970's Atwood and Gibson with their then young child occupied a farm house just outside of Alliston Ontario. The house was originally built sometime in the 1860's and was apparently haunted by the spirit of a woman. On numerous occasions the disembodied footsteps of the ghost were heard crossing the floors, mounting the staircase, and stopping at the bedroom door.
The apparition of the ghost was described as an ageless woman clad in an old-looking blue dress. Her expression was always one of sadness.
After the authors moved from this dwelling subsequent tenants also reported ghost-like activity. With the sad apparition walking past the bedroom door.
No possible explanation for this ghost has ever been found.
