We received the following report from one of our readers in March 2010:

"I was a new housekeeper in a established resort & one weekend I worked for the usual housekeeper as she took that w/e off in the original "homestead wing" which had been renovated to accomodate a few original antique rooms - each having their own unique identity. After completion of cleaning a room you always closed/locked the door behind you. This particular Sunday(quiet/checkout day) I had just completed cleaning one of the rooms (we will call it the "blue room") on the main floor and locked up as usual and went upstairs to continue cleaning the rooms up there -once I returned to go for my lunch break about noon (hour later) I passed the "blue room" and the door was wide open - I checked the room - no one! I locked up went for lunch (skeleton staff that day as most rooms were vacant) No one had been in my wing. Then I came back and the same door was open again! I got a little creeped out..checked the room ..no one and I was still a liitle creeped out,  but continued upstairs and once I was done upstairs (about 1 & 1/2 hrs later) I came down and that damn door was open again! I went in - no one - checked with the front desk - no one had been there. I guess skeptics (I am one myself) could say someone was playing a trick on me, but it certainly didn't seem to be that way or go down like that at the time, and no one ever came forward to admit to that. I did however mention it to the usual housekeeper who had worked there for several years and she almost blew it off as nothing unusual!! She had a few stories herself and it was pretty neat! Perhaps the energy of original homesteaders is still there? past guests?  perhaps some other unexplained phenomenon - imagination? Trickster? who knows..but it happened and I sensed it was very unusual."
