This has been submitted by one of our readers...

Up in a little town called Glen Alda, near Apsley, there is a river called the Crowe River.

Well, as the story goes, a mother and daughter drowned in the rapids of that river some hundred years ago. The mother and daughter are said to be seen in a house that's by the river. They supposedly walk the halls and the yards of the home.

Now, my "encounter"... Me and my father were visiting relatives and decided to go fishing. We walked a ways back in the bush to the rapids of the Crowe River. The man who lives there was at his other home in Toronto, needless to say there was nobody around for about a mile. So my father and I started fishing.

As we fished, we both felt as if we were being watched. My father decided it was time to go and eat so he left his telescopic fishing rod in the water with a bobber on to see if anything would bite. About an hour later we returned to the site. After arriving, my father returned to get his rod. Soon, he called up to me from where he was and held his rod up.

I thought nothing of it. Then I realized it was all reeled in, the rod was packed up to it's smallest form, and had apparently been set against the base of a tree. After this my father thought that I was coming up behind him and he turned to speak to me, but I was still not even close to him.

I have honestly never seen my father that spooked before in my life.

We didn't go back to that fishing hole for at least 2 years. Even to this day we still have the eerie feel that someone or something is watching.
