The witness writes:

"Years ago, my daughter and I had lived in an older house we were renting from someone I had known for years.  The house was on a large section of farmland with few neighbours. Shortly after, the man I was seeing started coming over and spending extended periods of time at our house, odd things started to happen; specifically, we could hear very distinctive footsteps walking around upstairs.  The steps would come down the stairs to the first landing, and then stop.  Both my daughter and his son would be sound asleep upstairs and we found no reason for the footsteps.  Later on, things would be moved about (keys, etc.) but we would assume it would be the children playing games.  Over time it became apparent the man I was seeing had a drinking problem and he became violent and aggressive at times.  After one such confrontation, I was just going to sleep in my room (the north facing room) when someone sat on the edge of my bed.  It was not a dream, as the weight actually caused my body to roll over towards it.  I could feel something, always.  Nothing frightening...just something. Some months later, his parents came to visit and they were sleeping in the north room (mine).  His mother said to me that she had awoken that morning to see a young boy with black hair, wearing a red shirt and with no defined legs just a blue haze, watching her in bed. The boy half smiled/smirked and walked through the door.  I had told this story to our landlord and she told it to her mother.  Her mother's reaction was surprising.  She told a story about one of their neighbours that had years ago drove into their yard yelling to keep her boys out of his fields.  She was surprised as all of her children were home and accounted for, and the neighbour described a black haired boy in a red shirt running in the field which would have been behind the house we were renting.  


The area is very rural.   Abutting the rear of the property is a graveyard.  We are uncertain as to who the boy could have been.  The house was built and occupied by the original owner, then purchased by our landlord.  The house was rented out a few times before we did and I did speak to the previous tenant she recalled nothing out of the ordinary. I've spoken to the current tenant and she said she had the house smudged before they moved in and she has advised nothing out of the ordinary. I do believe this young boy responded to the tension in the house and was there to protect my daughter and I.
