Mad River Apparition - Creemore

"Hi, my family and I moved to a house directly on highway 9 about a mile from 124 going towards Creemore across from the mad River conservation area.* We lived there from 2007 to 2012. One night we were having a fire in the backyard, as it was a common thing we enjoyed, this night was a very bright full moon.

At some point we needed more wood, so I crossed highway 9 and was gathering sticks from the ditch. Not needing a flashlight because of the very bright moon. As I came out of the ditch to cross back to the house a human figure was standing directly on the yellow line of the highway, I was startled and assumed it was a hiker or lost person, very strange as not a lot of people walking this stretch of 9 at night.

The moon was directly behind the figure, so obviously there was no question someone was standing 20 feet away.

So there I was for a good 30 seconds facing a black figure back lit by a full moon, then I talked, saying something like, "hello, are you lost," and no reply. My hair stood on end and after another 30 seconds I walked straight at the figure to confront this person, because my home and family are very near.

As soon as I got almost close enough to see detail, the figure ran straight into the woods at full speed and without a sound was gone. Coyotes started howling. The woods in the area are very thick and to run into them at night is not possible. To this day I'm glad I didn't have a flashlight, I shudder at what I would of seen."
