The Titled Kilt is a restaurant style pub located on Mary Street in Whitby, Ontario. The first time someone wrote to us about this location was in May 2005 when a patron claimed that they felt a very strong cold spot at their table, and thought that they saw what appeared to him to be an apparition. The person who contacted us claimed that they had asked the bartender afterwards if the building was haunted, which he said was confirmed to him. However, the staffer also told him that he was the first customer who had ever mentioned it before.
We filed away the report as we often do with cases like this where we only have one witness, and no history of possible ghostly activity.
Recently (2008) we have received another report. This one comes from a lady who went to the Titled Kilt to meet some friends for some wings, and a couple of drinks. It was this lady's very first visit, and she states"from the moment I walked in I could sense the spirit of a very lonely sad man." The lady also states she feels she is a gifted psychic.
Is there the spirit of a former patron haunting this pub? Perhaps it was a favourite place to go in life?
