One of our longtime readers writes:

I've done some research on haunted places in the Durham region. One location that seems worthy of investigation is the Henry House, located in Lakeview Park, Oshawa, Ontario. This building, along with the adjacent Guy and Robinson Houses, belong to the Oshawa Community Museum and Archives. People have reported ghostly figures peering out of the windows, sounds of laughter, and lights switching on and off by themselves. Apparently most paranormal activity at the house occurs at night. I personally haven't experienced anything unusual at the Henry House, but it's interesting that it has received more attention by paranormal enthusiasts than the other two houses, which seem just as likely to acquire a "haunted" status.

Thank you David!

Update November 2014 A reader adds:

"Regarding lights switching on and off and laughter; It should be noted that the lights in the houses are motion sensitive (this threw my girlfriend for a loop when we took the tour,) and there could always be a defective one or two.

The acoustics of the house are a little confusing as well.  I thought that I heard people talking in the house when it was only supposed to be me, my girlfriend and the tour guide. It turned out the voices were coming from people on the other side (exterior) of the house and there are usually people around in that area of the house even fairly late in to the night.

As for figures, I can't speak on the subject other than there is a parking lot across from the houses and a road running beside, and all the homes appear to have period made glass in the windows, they are slightly wavy when looking through them.  Any cars or bikes passing could cause what people are seeing.  We have walked by the houses quite a few times at night and have never seen anything personally.

None of this is meant to try and disprove or diminish anyone's claims in any way, it is simply more information for people to consider."

Please Note: We do recognise that there are people who strongly disagree with any reports from this site (and others) and that the report here should be read with that in mind. Also, please note that this website and group are not "officially" related to the museum and/or the museum's site and we strongly recommend (and note) that if there is anything "paranormal" at the museum, it will most likely be happening day or night, so please venture in only at visiting hours. Thank you.
