This report was sent into us in 2013, but events described occurred in February 2009:
This event happened in the winter of 2009 but I did not report anything until now because I never knew such a website as this existed. In December of 2009 I was walking in front of the York University Keele Campus parallel to Keele Street when a strange figure walking on the sidewalk opposite me aroused suspicion. The area which I am referring to is called Boynton Woods and is located between the Pond Rd. and York Blvd. The area can be quite deserted and was more so given the cold weather and approximate time which was 8:15-8:30 on a Sunday evening. Parking at York is expensive and so what a lot of students do(which I did) is park across campus in the strip mall or near the Petro-Canada plant. And for it is this reason that I was returning to my car after parking in the strip mall across York University on Keele Street. As I stated it was cold and I had my head down to keep my face warm but ever so often I would bring my head back up to keep myself on track. A tall man, which did not appear before I had put my head down, was walking on the sidewalk opposite me and walking towards me at a brisk pace. The figure was quite tall as I stated and walked briskly The strangest thing of the matter is that he just appeared on the sidewalk opposite me within 100m and dressed, from my initial observation, in clothing which I think had to have been from the 1950,60, 70's. Now, sensing something was odd I kept my head slightly up but not that much because I did not want the individual to know I was staring at him and his garments. Eventually we passed each other and this is where things got really strange. My original suspicion of his clothes was right. The clothes he had been wearing was something from the 1960's and as he passed me I felt a VERY gloomy presence. I suddenly became scared, felt ill to my stomach and overall had a very negative vibe about this individual. The presence was so negative that as I had passed him I began to jog towards York Blvd to my car. I looked back only once(when I was close to my car) and the man was still walking so brisk, so straight-line I concluded from then on that the there had to have been something paranormal about what I saw.
Now in my explanation of the scene I noted that when I passed the man I felt very, very scared and my thoughts became incredibly gloomy. What I did not state that besides wearing a very old fashion of clothes and detecting a VERY negative presence about the individual he also walked very briskly and so straight-line without ever once putting his head to shield from the cold. I conclude the man was a spirit and on the grounds of York for some reason. On a last note I am a large male, but what I can assure you is that when that I passed this individual I felt something so negative-a vibe, so negative that something was very wrong with the man I had passed by that I had to jog back to my car.
In further correspondence the witness adds: "As well, the clothes and the styles which this man wore were extraordinary. It is not as if his style of clothes mimicked some style of fashion from some former decade as is the case with people buying and wearing jean styles from the 1970's-bellbottoms etc:). The make of the clothes and how it was worn was completely genuine as he wore a jean jacket, jeans and big leather boots.
Now I add this well which sent alarm bells ringing in my head. The reason I had my head my head down that night was due to the extreme cold we were experiencing that week. I am pretty big guy 6--"1 and 200lbs plus and yet still I had two overcoats and even with a hat and scarf I had to put my head down to shield my face from the wind. The individual, and can you believe this, with only a jean jacket, jeans and boots (no scarf nor hat) did not try in any way so much walking opposite my direction to shield his head or other extremities. The distance from road to road on that strip is of sidewalk is close to or a bit more than 750 m. "
Our thanks and appreciation go out to the witness for sharing their experience with us. Was this oddly dressed man truly a ghost? Something else?
