We received the following report in 2013. Please note the house has apparently been demolished in order to build condos.
"When I was a child in Penatang, we lived in the old Governors house on the lands of Bay Moorings Marina on Fox Street). My parents were having a party that night, and we were all relegated to our rooms as the guests arrived. I fell asleep, then was woken by a man sitting on the foot of my bed. He was older, about 60 or so and dressed in a uniform. As my father was ex-Navy, that was not an odd thing to see.He chatted to me about his family and how he missed them, especially his children. As we talked, he gradually faded, then was gone. When my mum came in to check on me, I asked her about the man. She said there was no such person at the party. I later found out that the house was used for various Canadian and British military. Over the years, the house had areas where all of us would be uncomfortable. Near the bottom of the stairs and on the upper balcony were particularly 'hot'. We never felt in danger, just unsettled in those areas. The man came back many times to talk to me; usually late a night when the house was quiet. My mum would come into my room, hearing me talking to the foot of my bed. I would point the man out to her, but she could not see him. She never discouraged me from what I saw, but always made sure I kept it in context. It has been difficult to get a lot history on the house, which has since been torn down to make room for condos. It was a beautiful house of yellow with white gables. I would love to know more about it."
