The following account of ghostly activity in a private home in Markham Ontario occurred over a ten year span from the mid 1980s - mid 1990s. The witness describes some of the activity that she experienced in her former residence in her own words........

" If you sat in the basement of the house you would hear someone come in the front door, walk down the hall and enter the kitchen. I have heard this, as did my sister, her husband. In fact we knew the old owners of the house and they reported the same thing.

My sister and I heard things crash in the house. My mother heard the back door open when she was babysitting once. Strange dreams would happen to everyone who lived in the house. For example, many times I would dream (and think I was awake) that something was in the room holding me down on the bed. My brother had the same experience in the home.

The funny thing is that the presence seemed to be friendly and watched over the house. Any change or new person in the house would stimulate the entity.

I never felt afraid or scared in the house. You just knew that each time you were in the basement you would hear "them" enter the front door and walk into the kitchen (yet no one was ever there).

I spoke with the old owners of the house and they said that the spirit was not there when they built the house, but came years later. It remained there when we lived in the house. We moved out in 1997. I actually drove by the house one day and asked the new owner if she noticed anything unusual. She said no. I'm not sure, but my feeling is that the entity was protecting the house and me when I lived there. Any strange activity or persons in the housed seemed to motivate the entity."
