Updated November 2011

Members of the OGHRS visited the museum in November 2011, and toured all areas currently open to the public. While we did not encounter any spirits during our visit, it is impossible not to be moved by the stories of former "inmates" and learning about the hardships that they endured. We were also moved by local efforts to clean up the "pioneer" cemetery where 200 former inhabitants of the "house" are interred in unmarked graves.

The museum and displays including a permanent WWI exhibit are excellent and well worth a visit ghosts or no ghosts. Admission to the museum which is located between Elora and Fergus in Wellington County is by donation. Check the museum website for full details including hours of operation and directions.

Please note: that we are not related professionally to the museum in any way and therefore all queries regarding the archives, exhibits etc should be directed to the Wellington County Museum.A link to their website has been provided for you above.
