Manning House - Waterloo
Is Sydney and Agnes Shelly still "living" in their old home?
Purchased by the Manning Family in 1973, this 1890's home on Allen Street was built by Sydney Shelling and passed down to his family (the previous owners to the Mannings being related to Sydney.)
Sydney may have been seen standing in the doorway in khakis and boots (the khakis being the main "tip-off" as to who the apparition possibly was as Sydney was known to wear khaki shirts and shorts,) but Agnes, Sydney's spinster daughter, has been heard.
Her footsteps and the sound of music has been heard in the upstairs hallway and the rustle of bulky clothing has been heard in the den. Aside from the noises, the Manning's dog has been known to growl and stare into apparent nothingness as if it was dealing with an intruder.
It is interesting to note that someone has etched into the corner windowpane in the upstairs bedroom "A Sheley".
Have you heard of any other stories of the Shelleys? Maybe you know of a similar home or another "ghostly" happening in Waterloo? Please This email address is being protected from spambots.
