We received the following report from one of our readers in June 2012
I moved into a house in Cambridge that was built in 1908. The 1st night I was in the basement, I just "felt" something & said to myself, I wonder if this house is haunted. After repainting & settling in, I could see a vapour moving around my ottoman & pedestal table, but no one else could see it.
The action seemed in the living-room.
FINALLY, my hubby experienced a door knob moving as if someone was coming into the bedroom, I was downstairs & no one else was in the house.
We nicknamed it The Thing. The thing would hide cutting knives/screwdrivers as you used them, then they would appear after we would look around trying to figure where they went, I believe he was a jokester. Whenever I vacuumed the stairs, I would feel a light tap in my shoulders, as if he was saying excuse me.
One day I was blow drying my hair and in the middle bedroom where my husband would dress & had his clothes (it was an older home, so the master bedroom closets are small) I saw a man, who I assumed to be my husband come out of the middle bedroom. But I realized that wasn't how my husband walked, I turned my head & saw an older man, he was kinda of fuzzy yet I could see his gray hair, undershirt & boxer-shorts/shorts. In mere seconds this older man & I met eyes & he just turned around SO quickly & went back onto the middle bedroom. I threw my hair dryer into the sink & ran into the bedroom hoping to see this man but all that was in the room was my husband fully dressed. That was the first & last time I saw the apparition.
We moved after, not because of the ghost, when it came to the lawyers, there was a glitch in the property size in the survey, so they had to contact the previous owner & the husband, it was noted that he had died years ago. A neighbour had told me when I moved in that her Grandpa had owned our house & had done a lot of renovations to the house. I truly believe it was the previous older gentleman. I really wanted to tell the wife her husband was in the house, but my hubby told me don't.
