We received a report in March 2010 about a haunting in a nursing home in Essex County. For the privacy sake of current residents, and staff we will keep the name, and exact location of the facility confidential. While it is not at all unusual to hear of hauntings at senior's residences or long term care facilities because statistically spirits seem to haunt places where they either worked, lived, or played, what sets this particular report apart is that it involves the apparition of a very young girl.
Residents and staff have reported experiences with what some believe is a young girl "ghost" who is continuously running down the hallways. In total there has been approximately 9 current witnesses of this child apparition. When one of the nurses tried to investigate and called out to her the girl "ghost" reportedly just kept running. No one at this home seems to know who this girl is or why she has been seen there.
The nursing home is not very old, and we can only speculate that maybe the young girl ghost is somehow tied in with whatever the building served as in the past.
Our thanks go out to the witnesses for sharing this report with us. We have purposefully left out an exact address and name of this nursing home as we are compliant with the Ontario Privacy Act, however if this sounds familiar to you and you can add further information or if you have had a similar experience in Essex County please contact us via This email address is being protected from spambots.
