In May 2010 one of our reader's shared the following:

"I have enjoyed Thomson Park for many years so I have a couple of corrections and a thought or two on the existing submission.

Just for clarification, none of the museum buildings belonged to the Thomson family.  They were all moved to Thomson Park from different areas of Scarborough.

As far as lights go, electric lights are only in some of the rooms in the Cornell House (the white house), which is why in the evening lights wouldn't be on in every room.  It is possible for staff to be there in the evenings and timers are also used.

The house at St. Andrew's Cemetery is actually called the Sexton's House.  The Sexton was the churchyard caretaker.  The house was restored by the Scarborough Historical Society and there are now tenants living in the house.

The McCowan Log House was moved to the museum and restored.  The interesting thing is that there is no rocking chair in this building.

I am fascinated by this topic and enjoy reading the different accounts."
