One of our readers share the following experience:
"I lived at XXXX Dublin Street in Peterborough for the 2002-2003 academic year. The house had an eerie back bedroom. This bedroom and basement filled everyone who visited/toured the house with a sense of foreboding. Frequently I felt as though I were being watched. I would often hear child's footsteps running up and down the stairs and in the upstairs hall. The event I am specifically reporting occurred when I walked up the main staircase in the dark. I reached over for a light switch to illuminate the hall. I was standing on the top landing, reaching across the hall, making a kind of bridge with my arm. At that exact moment, I heard running in the hall, and a child-sized, dark form ran under my arm towards the back bedroom. I also felt a breeze against my arm, like someone running beneath it.
The location was away from any drafts, or furnace ducts. The house was drafty, but any issues happened away from draft-makers: windows, doorways, vents and exterior walls. I only lived there a year but the frequent, unexplained events in that house have remained with me. I have not really told anyone before! I tried to do research on the house but found very little information about the building itself. I'd be interested to know if any other tenants, past or present, have had any similar experiences."
