We received the following account of a haunting in Uxbridge in May 2010, however the event described occurred in the 1970s.
"When we first moved into the house, there were moving lights on the ceiling with the drapes closed in the darkness. We heard the locked door in our century home open and slam and little daughter yelled "Daddy, daddy". No one was there. Our sheep dog hightailed it downstairs with fur raised when hydro went out as he accompanied me upstairs to get a diaper. Container containing dinner flew across the kitchen...12 feet. Handed an article to a neighbour and it disappeared when dropped. Heard whispers of voices. Small dog contained in kitchen with doors firmly closed......found on second floor when we returned from town. Dog too small to climb stairs. I was carrying my infant daughter in my arms upstairs and it felt as if something had grabbed her. I nearly lost hold of her over the banister. I was answering the door at the time and the old gent who sold us the house was at the door. Husband, sister and neighbour witnesses to events.
Strangers who visited would comment "This place is haunted". I believe we were the 3rd owners in 100 yrs. A woman's figure was seen at the top of the stairs...dressed in old fashioned clothing. The house is still there and I have always wondered if the present owners have had any experiences. My mother and I have precognitive dreams almost identical. We have both had a very unusual UFO experience (same time) in the 1970's and yes we are quite sane! We never discussed it until many years later."
Our thanks go out to the witness for sharing her experiences with us.
