Update - March 2006: On March 1st 2006 we received the following from a long term resident of the area:

I find this so hard to believe as I live on the Townline Road in Oshawa about 2 miles north of Nash Road and I have never heard of this. I would also say that I have lived here since 1965 and have lived in the same direct area since 1949, having delivered the local newspaper to that very house (1411 Nash Road) in the 1950's, as my route encompassed all of Nash Road. This is pure balderdash. Furthermore, from 1975 to 1979, my nephew and his wife along with their newborn twin daughters lived in that very house. I visited that house and my daughters babysat there. Nothing appeared to be out of the ordinary when I visited or when my daughters babysat. Also there is nor has there ever been any kind of park near Nash Road and the Townline Road. There was at one time an open field behind but never a park that consisted of swings, etc. Also, Oshawa is a city, but until recently, still maintained a small town atmosphere. Had any murder, suicide occurred on Nash Road, it would have been in the paper. I can certainly recall other murders that occurred around that area but not one on Nash Road. What you have written is just unbelievable.
We would like to thank the above resident for contacting us!

In response the daughter of our primary witness replied:

I can't say I really blame people for being skeptical, I know I might have been if I hadn't ever had any experiences.
With the kind assistance of Paranormal Seekers (a research/investigative group based in Durham Region) we were able to find out the following:

There are 3 parkettes in the approx. vicinity of where the house would once have been located. There are two that back on the public school, S.T. Warden that is a block away. One of those would be located off of Varcoe Rd going North., while the other is Located off a side street from Centrefield Dr going North. The third park can be found on Cherry Blossom Dr. There use to be a big empty field that back on to this park, which you get walk through from Varcoe Rd. going South. Today, that empty field has been built up with houses."
