Much can be said about George who haunts the King's Landing in Kingsville. He's a semi-mischievous poltergeist that likes to play with the lights and to open doors... especially to the bathroom.

He attracts the attention of cats and dogs which, true to form, growl and/or hiss at apparently nothing but people seem to know it's just George.

George has even been known to touch people with a cold and clammy hand.

Who is George? We're not quite sure but apparently, your dinner may come with a side of phantom footsteps and flickering lights and it's all attributed to George.

UPDATE: April 1st, 2003 A reader sent us the following report...

We were the only two people in the restaurant and we were seated way at the back, looking out over the lake, and beside the fountain.

My friend left the table to visit the washroom and while he was gone, I was left alone in the room.

The water flowing through fountain suddenly stopped flowing and the place went dead silent, just as I was reading on the menu that "George" enjoys playing with the taps... After about a minute or so the water suddenly resumed flowing with no explanation and I saw my companion returning to the table.

We convinced the staff to take us upstairs and have a look around, but nothing more happened.

The food was excellent and at least I had a bit of an interesting experience.

Was it George or just a momentary malfunction?

We are really looking to 'flesh out' the story of George. If you have any information, please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Update: October 2009

In October 2009 we received the following report.

"I was a bartender upstairs in the loft. When I closed late at night I would turn all lights off, when I left the building Id look up only to see lights back on. This would happen a few times a week. Some days when I opened Id find the cupboards or bar area somewhat re-arranged. One early evening sitting on the patio someone kept touching my moms shoulder but there was no one near her. The ghost (GEORGE) was never hurtful or threatening he was just mischievous."
